Bilston Pentecostal Church is part of Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal denomination in the UK. Our Sunday congregation is about 100 people of all different ages and nationalities including British, Jamaican, Italian, Nigerian, Asian and South American.
We are a lively church. We have a worship band, which includes a keyboard, guitars, drums, vocalists, and wind instruments. We use a variety of songs of a mainly contemporary style.
We have our own car park around the back and good wheel chair access. We pride ourselves on making sure you feel really welcome and at home in our services. We believe that Church should be enjoyed, not endured. So why not come down and check us out. We have Sunday services at 11am and 6pm. We’re pretty sure you’ll love our church as much as we do and we look forward to meeting you! FAQ What can I expect? We want you to have a great experience at church, so our welcome team will be ready to greet you when you arrive and give you one of our welcome packs. They will show you to a seat. You can sit pretty much anywhere you like, although we have a few rows on one side reserved for our kid’s ministry. Our service is pretty relaxed. We sing a few songs, (the words to songs come up on our big screen) we take communion (bread and wine) most Sunday mornings and someone will talk for about half an hour. Hopefully it will inspire you and help you in your journey through life. How can I get to church? We aim to make church accessible to as many as possible and have a free minibus service that is available to pick people up. More info is available here. Alternatively you can make your own way. The address is at the bottom of the page and we are also within walking distance of the metro trams (The crescent) and Bilston Bus Station. Please contact us for more detailed directions. You can find us on Google Maps here What should I wear? Wear what you like! The dress code is casual, although you won’t look out of place if you wanted to wear a suit! What about my children? Children and young people are a high priority at BPC. That’s why we have a dedicated team of people who will look after them and help them to get loads out of church. If your children are aged 3-11, they will join our exciting KidShape team. They stay in for the first 20 minutes of our service and then head off to a school around the corner where they receive great teaching and have stacks of fun together with our brilliant kids’ team. We have a creche for under 3s where parents are welcome to take their children. The sound from the service is transmitted into the creche and there is a window into the church so that you can still hear and see what is going on. However, don’t worry about your child crying or making a noise in our service. We don’t mind at all! We also have IGNITE for any high school students who don’t want to stay in for the talk. They can go and join one of our leaders and other young people in discussing the Bible together informally, with a game or 2 usually thrown in too! We have some great activities for all ages going on at the church throughout the week too! They are well worth checking out! What happens at the end? After the service people stay around to chat for a while. At our 6pm service we have free refreshments which we would invite you to stay for.
Can I come on my own and meet new people? There are loads of ways to meet new people at BPC. Right from the moment you walk in the door, a member of our team will welcome you and introduce you to someone whom you can sit with if you wish. The best way to make great friends is to stay behind at the end to chat to people, join a connect group (these are small groups that meet in people’s homes across the area) and start serving in one of our ministries. There are loads of opportunities for you to get involved. We also have lots of social events that you maybe interested in depending on your interests and age. Do I need to bring any money? We take an offering in most of our services, but as a guest, we don’t expect you to give. We are just glad to have you with us! Please feel free to just allow the offering bowl to pass you by, unless of course you want to invest in what you see! Refreshments are free, but we do have a resources stand and the back of the church where you can purchase books, CDs and Bible if you want to. Please feel free to contact us for more information about any of our various activities
